This GPN updates the original GPN published in the Procurement Opportunities on 29 July 2008.

The City of Kyiv, Ukraine has received a loan of EUR 15 million from the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and intends using the loan proceeds to finance traffic management improvements. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of about EUR 20.4 million, will be implemented for the supply and installation of various traffic management system elements by the City's municipal traffic agency Kyivdorservice, that contribute to the creation of the City's new integrated traffic management system under development.

Kyivdorservice is expected to require the procurement of the following goods and services:

• Design, supply, installation and maintenance of traffic management equipment systems, such as urban traffic control system, traffic lights, CCTV, and fibre optic cabling.

Tendering for the supply, installation and maintenance of traffic management system is expected to start in the Q4 of 2011.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
